The Empowerment of young people
Our conference was targeted at younger people and provided an unique opportunity to aid in the fight against FGM through education and to raise awareness amongst their peers. Topics of discussion at the Conference included FGM and its cultural significance and the health consequences and social implications of FGM. The Conference set out to provide a platform with which young people could build strong and lasting networks with the relevant community groups.
Many thanks to: Naana Otoo-Oyortey, Jenny Comery and Dalia Farah from FORWARD, Alan Webster Cross-Government FGM Coordinator, Maggie Baxter Chair of Rosa's Board of Trustees and to all the young people who contributed to this conference.
